Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are consider the main cause of death today According to World Health Organization (WHO),and because that ECG signal is very important tool in monitoring and diagnosis of these disease , different automatic methods were proposed based on this signal. [1]. The manual analysis of ECG signals is suffered different challenges such as differeculty of detecting and classify waveform of this signal, So, many machine learning methods are explored to describe the anomalies ECG signal accurately . Deep learning (DL) can be used in ECG classification, it can improve the quality of the automatic classification system. In this paper , we have proposed a deep learning classification system by using different layers of convolution, rectifier and pooling operations that can be used to increase feature extraction of ECG signal. We have proposed two models, one is used for input signal of 1-D, in which we designed model for classification csv type of data for ECG signal, while in the second proposed system, we used model for 2-D signal after convert it from its csv type . 2-D signal (ECG image) is used in order to augment the two dimensional signal with different methods to increase the accuracy of the model by training it with geometric transformation of the original input images such as rotation, shearing etc.The results are compared with AlexNet and other models based on the metrics, which are used to measure the performance of the proposed work, the result show that, the proposed models improve the efficiency of the classification in the two systems.
QRS represented the most important part of ECG signal, so different researches and studies are performed for QRS recognition. In this paper, a new technique by using wavelet transform is used for denoising ECG signal by using adaptive threshold, then DWT used to separate the high frequency from the low component, then compute the statistical information from low frequencies to be used in threshold computation, Based on these statics features, lower and upper threshold are calculated, which are updated according to number of peaks that are detected until two thresholds give same number of peaks, also the detected peaks are updated according to average R-R time. Results of (EDB) database was (Acc = 99.366%), while (LTSTDB) database was (Acc = 98.89%). The results are compared with other work and it is show that the proposed method gave better performance and can be used for QRS detection.
ECG is very important tool for diagnosis of heart disease, this signal is suffered from different types of noises such as baseline wander (BW), muscle artifact (MA) and electrode motion (EM) , which lead to wrong interpretation. In order to prevent or reduce the effect of these noises, different approaches have been applied to enhance the ECG signal. In this paper, we have proposed a new method for ECG signal de-noising based on deep learning Auto encoder (DL-DAE) and wavelet transform named as (WT-DAE). The proposed system (WT-DAE) is constructed from two stages, in the first stage, the wavelet transform is used to isolate the most significant coefficient of the signal (approximation sub-band) from de-tails coefficients (details sub-band). The details coefficients is fed to new proposed threshold method , which is used to evaluate the threshold value according to the feature of ECG signal, this threshold value is used to threshold the detail coefficients, in order to remove the details noise that is contained as high frequencly component , then invers wavelet transform is used to reconstruct the signal . Different wavelet filters and threshold functions are applied in this stage. The second stage of signal de-noising is performed by using DAE method, which is designed for reconstruct the de-noised sig-nal. The proposed DAE model is constructed from 14 layers of convolutional, relu and max_ pooling layer with different parameters. We perform training and testing the model with MIT-BIH ECG database and the performance of the pro-posed system is evaluated by terms of MSE, RMSE, PRD and PSNR. The experimental results are compared with other approaches and show that, the proposed system demonstrated the superiority for de-noising ECG signal.
Pooling methods are used to select most significant features to be aggregated to small region. In this paper, anew pooling method is proposed based on probability function. Depending on the fact that, most information is concentrated from mean of the signal to its maximum values, upper half of Gaussian function is used to determine weights of the basic signal statistics, which is used to determine the transform of the original signal into more concise formula, which can represent signal features, this method named half Gaussian transform (HGT). Based on strategy of transform computation, Three methods are proposed, the first method (HGT1) is used basic statistics after normalized it as weights to be multiplied by original signal, second method (HGT2) is used determined statistics as features of the original signal and multiply it with constant weights based on half Gaussian, while the third method (HGT3) is worked in similar to (HGT1) except, it depend on entire signal. The proposed methods are applied on three databases, which are (MNIST, CIFAR10 and MIT-BIH ECG) database. The experimental results show that, our methods are achieved good improvement, which is outperformed standard pooling methods such as max pooling and average pooling.
