A Simple Route to 9-Fluorenylidenes by Domino Suzuki/Heck Coupling Reactions. -The Suzuki coupling of bromoarenes such as (I) or related brominated dienyl esters with boronic acid (II) is followed by an intramolecular Heck reaction to yield various types of target structures. In the case of products (V), 10% of the (Z) isomers are also isolated.
