Agriculture is one of the economic sectors most directly affected by climate change. Agriculture must adapt to changed environmental and biological conditions in order to be effective. In extreme cases, certain areas must be completely set aside due to soil erosion or desertification. At the same time, agricultural activity is not only a victim of global climate change, but also one of the causes of it. In our work, we examine climate change in Hungary, projecting it into agriculture where extreme weather conditions are most noticeable. As a testing area, we chose the Hungarian Sand Dunes area because of the diversified agricultural production here and because this part of the country is most affected by climate change. The Homokhátság occupies a significant part of Hungary and has always been a major agricultural production center. The homestead farms established here define the image of the Hungarian Great Plain. Interviews with local farmers provide an overview of the local impacts of climate change and measures to mitigate the expected and future damages in the farms surveyed. In our research, we shed light on the causes, extent and consequences of climate change, especially in the areas of agriculture. We present climate impacts and measures to reduce them through secondary and primary research.
The priorities identified by the EUs and national strategies and the main target areas promoted by the legal regulations concerning this area are precision food production, investments and developments, and in the area of ensuring the resources needed to achieve these a more efficient production, the improvement of sustainability and food safety. To achieve these objectives, the European Union has identified the widespread introduction of precision technologies using digitization technology in the food industry. As an effect of the implementation of DAS on the food industry for processing, the environmental pressures will decrease in mass production too. Food economy will be able to produce healthier, higher quality foods. In this research we are analyzing the achievement of the Digital Agricultural Strategy of Hungary of 2019- 2022, the targets of the Common Agricultural Policy as of 2020 and the main targets of the Green Deal, in the case of model farms we have selected. Our purpose is to examine the impacts of precision technologies on the enhancement, thrift, profitability, sustainability the efficiency of production and on the food chain security in the case of medium-sized model food industrial plant.
The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of regularly applied biological control by continuous monitoring of pests with the help of color traps (sticky sheets) and flower tests with joint species identification of the useful insect to determine the extent to which native useful insects can settle next to the introduced predatory ones. The latter process is to be facilitated by growing a flowering mixture of annual plants at one of the experimental sites, which provides adequate feeding and hiding place for beneficial insects. The experiment was performed in one pepper forcing period. The main pest insects are: western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis), tobacco thrips (Thrips tabaci).Useful insects in the experiment: predatory mites (Amblyseius spp.) and predatory flower bugs (Orius laevigatus).
The Green Deal declares that climate change and environmental degradation means a threat to Europe and the whole world. In order to be able to respond effectively to the challenges in this context in the European Union, we need a new growth strategy that will transform the EU economy into a modern, resource-efficient and the economic growth is independent for the resource utilization economic. This research is a very timely issue in the livestock farming sector, because the livestock farming sector has a highest emission of ammonia and greenhouse gasses among all the agricultural sectors. The possible effective solution for this problem is the application of the circular farming in the manure management. The methodology of the test is to contact different precision technology applying companies, to assess the methods of the technologies and the assessment of the efficiency of the technologies used as far as production and the reduction of harmful emissions are concerned. In the course of research, we are assessing the achievement of the strategic goals set out the Digital Agricultural Strategy, the Common Agricultural Policy and the Green Deal in the case of the model livestock farms.
One of the priorities for rural development is the establishment of Short Food Supply Chains which means reducing distance between local producers and local consumers and prioritizing local markets. In our work, we aimed at mapping the place of local producers within the distribution channels and evaluating local producer groups. We were looking at what tender opportunities producers are utilizing that can directly or indirectly link them to the Short Food Chain Program. To this end, we have set up several hypotheses. Firstly, we assumed that the change in consumer habits greatly influences producer's supply. Second, we investigated whether producers choose the sales channel where they can sell at the highest price or where the most products can be sold. Our hypothesis was also that more and more of the local producers are also involved in product processing. The research was conducted via questionnaires, during which 265 forms were filled out at traditional markets and also at cafeterias and restaurants.
