Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan Indigofera pada silase kelapa sawit pada bahan kering (BK), protein kasar (PK), serat kasar (SK), ekstrak eter (EE), Bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen (BETN. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Agrostologi, Industri Pakan dan Ilmu Tanah dan di Laboratorium Ilmu lmu Nutrisi, Fakultas Pertanian dan Peternakan, Universitas Islam Negeri Suska Riau Riau dari bulan Oktober sampai November 2014. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan empat ulangan, yaitu A: 100% daun kelapa sawit + tetes tebu + 5%, B: biomassa Indigofera + 5% molase 100%, C: 100% kelapa sawit + biomassa 20% Indigofera + 5% molase, D: 100% kelapa sawit + biomassa 40% Indigofera + tetes tebu + 5% dan E: 100% kelapa sawit + biomassa 60% Indigofera + tetes tebu + 5%. Periode fermentasi dilakukan selama 21 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan Indigofera meningkatkan kandungan silase kelapa sawit, ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya kandungan protein kasar dan BETN. Selain itu kandungan SK lebih rendah dari pada kontrol. Kami menyimpulkan bahwa persentase terbaik dari Indigofera dalam silase kelapa sawit untuk meningkatkan kualitasnya adalah 40%. This research aims to know the diversity of the nature of qualitative and quantitative kuantan cows age on many levels in Benai District of Kuantan Singingi regency. The number of samples was observed 88 cows kuantan which consists of 71 cows female and 17 male cows with levels 0-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months and 18-24 months. The parameters observed in the qualitative nature of hair and skin color is, horns shape and color away, while the nature of quantitative measurements of the body namely chest circumference, length, shoulder height, in the chest and hip height. The results showed that the qualitative nature of the cows kuantan females include the dominant hair color that is the color of tanned 35,21% white, curved Horn shape up and short horns and small alike 29.5% and the dominant leg color is 68% white and male cow whereas in kuantan, the dominant hair color that is the color of tanned 35,30% white, horned 53% not horned and short small 29% , and the dominant leg color is white 76%. Quantitative trait cow kuantan females include the dominant length is age 18-24 months 96,28 ± 10.70 cm, chest circumference: 20,71 ± 12.52 cm, in the chest: 43,28 ± 0.14 cm, shoulder height: 96,57 ± 7.25 cm and a height of hips: 101,71 ± 9.94 cm and while the average body size of cow kuantan males include the dominant length is aged 6-12 months 87 ± 6.05 cm, chest circumference of 6-12 months ± 16,52 112,75 cm chest, in 12-18 months 41,33 ± 1.53 cm shoulder height, age 18-24 months orders of 4.16 ± 91,67 cm high hip and age 12-18 months of 6.08 ± 101 cm.

Sapi kuantan banyak ditemukan di daerah Kabupaten Indargiri Hulu dan Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Berdasarkan tampilan fenotipe, sapi kuantan mirip dengan sapi pesisir (bangsa sapi potong lokal Sumatera Barat). Menurut beberapa peternak, asal-usul sapi kuantan merupakan sapi pesisir yang dibawa oleh perantau minang ke daerah ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuktikan apakah asal usul sapi kuantan merupakan sapi pesisir melalui analisis keragaman genetik menggunakan DNA barcode. DNA barcode yang digunakan adalah gene Cytochrome oxidase sub unit I, merupakan salah satu gene yang ditemukan pada DNA mitochondria. Isolasi DNA berhasil dilakukan pada 25 sampel darah sapi kuantan betina dewasa dan 18 sampel darah sapi pesisir betina dewasa. Amplifikasi ruas gene COI menggunakan metode Polymerase Chain Reaction. Primer forward yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah F'5 TTCTCAACCAACCATAAAGATATTGG-3' dan primer reverse 5'-TAGACTTCGGGGTGTCCAAAGAATCA-3', mengapit ruas gene COI sapi kuantan dan sapi pesisir dari basa 5711 -6420 (Genebank nomor akses NC_005971) sepanjang 710 bp. Hasil analisis sekuens menggunakan Program MEGA 5.2 menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 6 titik polimorpik yang membentuk 7 haplotype pada sapi kuantan dan 9 titik polimorfik yang membentuk 12 haplotype pada sapi pesisir. Hasil analisis jarak genetik dan phon filogenetik menunjukkan bahwa sapi kuantan dan sapi pesisir berada pada kelompok yang sama dengan Bos indicus. Mutasi pada ruas gene COI sangat kecil dan belum dapat menjelaskan perbedaan diantara breed. A B S T R A C TSix high protein and high lysine barley lines were derived from four crosses involving high protein andlor high lysine donors, ie Riso 1508 and SV 73608 (Hiproly x Mona'), with well adapted local strains V 5681 and V 4342. The trial was grown at the Wheat Research Institute, Faisalabad, Pakistan. The lines were chemically and nutritionally characterized and the results were compared with the parents. The biological value, net protein utilization and lysine contents were higher in all the derived lines than in their local parents, ie V 5681 and V 4342. The increased lysine levels in the lines B 82503 and B 82507 may be a consequence of the reduction of prolamin fractions with simultaneous increases in salt soluble fractions. In all the lines, lysine and nutritional quality increase were a reflection of high protein andlor high lysine parents. The line B 82503 had grain yield comparable to its local parent V 5681 but it was superior in lysine and some nutritional attributes to its high lysine donor parent Riso 1508. In some lines, lysine improvement was achieued without impairing grain yield.
Kuantan cattle is one of the Indonesia's local cattle originating from Riau Province. This research were aimed to determine the average body size and test the fresh semen quality of Kuantan cattle. Measurements of Kuantan cattle body were carried out in 16 adult bulls by observing body length, chest circumference, and shoulder height. Semen quality testing was carried out on four years old bulls with ±150kg weight with the parameters are odor, color, pH, volume, consistency and degrees of viscosity, motility, viability and abnormality. The results showed that the average body size of cattle in Kuantan included body length (cm), chest circumference (cm) and shoulder height (cm) of Kuantan cattle were 88.45 ± 3.92, 119.77 ± 16.18 and 98.94 ± 10.28, while motility, viability, abnormalities were 75.00%, 81.33%, 6.8%. The conclusions of this study were Kuantan cattle body size in small size and the semen feasible to be diluted into frozen semen. Keywords: Body Size, Semen Quality, Kuantan Cattle
