IT was serendipitously possible to secure fifth grade achievement results on the same battery for 57 children who when in kindergarten had been subjects in a structure-of-intellect investigation. Thus a study of prediction across four and one half years was possible. It was the purpose of this report to show the value of certain kindergarten examinations and test behavior ratings for anticipating fifth grade achievement, with emphasis upon efficient selection of tests and ratings showing up best in stepwise regression procedures. This purpose was executed for scores on the six separate subtests of the achievement battery, for total achievement test scores, and for group IQ's.Subjects and instruments.
