They have been threatened with serious degradation in the past, but far sighted government policies have helped them recover and thrive. They are threatened again, but the report of the Ontario Fair Tax Commission provides a ray of hope. Will the government see the light?

The history of the following case seems worthy of publication from its bearing on the question of danger in the use of ana3sthetics. A German woman aged forty-eight years, of moderately stout habit, with pale complexion, but complaining of no previous sickness, had complete posterior synochia in the left eye, the result of an iritis which occurred some years before. An iridectomy was dono for the improvement of the condition of the eye at the Brooklyn Eyo and Ear Hospital, June 22, 1876, at 4.30 p. m.
