RESULTS A total of 168 patients were studied. 70 patients were excluded due to various causes such as smoking, diabetes etc. The remaining 98 patients underwent final assessment. A majority of these patients, that is, 57 patients showed impaired vasodilation. This is a strong and indirect evidence for endothelial dysfunction.CONCLUSION Majority of the patients diagnosed as cardiac syndrome X, had impaired flow mediated dilation of the artery. This is a strong and indirect evidence for endothelial dysfunction in this group of patients. These results show that endothelial dysfunction as shown by impaired flow mediated vasodilation is highly prevalent among patients with cardiac syndrome X. Thus it is clear that endothelial dysfunction plays a major role in patients with cardiac syndrome x.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
