The concept of drones involves aerial surveillance from a specific height. When constructing a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) drone for underwater use, it is crucial to carefully consider the various structural components to ensure optimal performance and durability in harsh underwater conditions. This article provides an overview of the structural design of an ROV underwater drone, including key components such as the frame, buoyancy system, thrusters, and others. The backbone of an ROV is the frame, which is often composed of lightweight, high-strength materials like carbon fiber or aluminum. The design of the frame must be optimized for stability, strength, and maneuverability in the underwater environment. The buoyancy system, comprising the ballast and flotation devices, is essential for maintaining stability and enabling maneuverability at different depths. This drone can be operated remotely from a distance of up to 70-80 meters.
A borewell rescue robot which can rescue a child trapped inside bore well is presented in this work. Borewell accidents involving children falling into uncovered bore holes are unfortunately all too common and can have tragic consequences. In this work we designed a gripper which shall perform operations like holding child smoothly and lifting it up without causing any injuries to child. It comprises of 4 DOF which makes it more unique than other grippers. The gripper is designed by keeping various factors in mind like as holding capacity, flexibility. The bevel gear supporting gripper consists of 32 teeths, for more reliability and flexibility. The Micro Servos used has payload capacity of 1gm/cm. The robots could be equipped with cameras and sensors to detect the child's location and condition, as well as provide them with food, water, and other necessities to keep them alive until rescue teams arrive. The use of robots in borewell rescue operations could not only help to save lives but could also reduce the risk to human rescuers who often must undertake these operations in precarious conditions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
