This research aimed to develop the instruments of Mathematics instructional by using caring community-based learning cycle 5E on “Matrix Operations” Learning Material for the eleventh grade students of senior high school as well as to know its effect on the student’s mathematical communication skill. The research method used in this study can be considered as a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative methods are used to obtain data related to the results of the development of learning tools and quantitative methods are used for statistical analysis. The research subjects were the students of SMAN 1 Tegaldlimo, Banyuwangi Regency, from which three classes were chosen as the research samples, class XI MIPA 4 as the control class and class XI MIPA 5 as the first experimental class and class XI MIPA 2 as the second experimental class. Mathematical communication skill was measured by using the essay test. In the normality test, the data obtained were normally distributed and the data were homogeneous based on the homogeneity test, so that it was necessary to do the parametric data analysis by using One-Way ANOVA analysis. The results of the research showed that: (1) the instructional instrument resulted was valid, the implementation of the instructional instrument was practical and effective; (2) the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000 (p < 0.0-5), which indicated that the application of learning by using caring community-based learning cycle 5E had a significant effect on the student’s mathematical communication skill.
This paper argues that teacher certification does not fully enable teachers to either develop their teaching competence or comprehend their understanding of student characteristics. They both are the basic competence for a professional teacher. The authors argue that to master teaching strategies is paramount than to make a lesson plan and evaluate teaching performance. Understanding student characteristic means that teachers understand the unique and different potential possessed by each student. This can be conducted by involving parents in solving student problems. In fact, parents are often not involved in their children issues at school. The authors also highlight that the professionalism of certified teachers is often blurred by how they were occupied with administration job completion as the compulsory requirement of the allowance. As a result, some teachers are not well-prepared and do not know their student parents.
Abstrac: This study examines the efforts to increase community participation as an effort to strengthen school committees considering so that the existence of healthy school committees has a significant influence on the presence of superior school services. The approach taken in this study using qualitative methods where data collection through interviews and further documentation carried out induction model analysis by taking the site at Vocational High School 1 Sumenep East Java. The results of the study indicate that school committees of Vocational High School 1 Sumenep strengthen school committees through two activities; first, organizational strengthening of school committees by: 1) executing the establishment of committee members according to democratic rules and principles; 2) Has a Statutes and Bylaws of the organization and the work program of the committee; 3) carry out the role and function of the school committee. Secondly, the school committee's education insights are characterized by: 1) school committees are actively involved in the preparation of budget and expenditure plans (RAPBS) 2) the school committee understands the need for quality learning process; and 3) school committees establish partnerships and cooperation synergistically between schools, families and communities.
This research was aimed at finding out the implementation of the ISO9001:2008 of the State Vocational Senior High School 1 in Sumenep, Madura, East Java Indonesia in three different sites for three different departments. This research employed the qualitative approach using the multisites design. Data were collected using interview, documentation, and observation. The research found out that the implementation of the ISO9001:2008 in three different sites of the Vocational Senior Hogh School 1 in Sumenep, Madura, East Java was expereinced through integrative processes and steps to produce qualified outputs covering the planning and implementation of the site visit quality policy, the formulation of the policy of the quality, and the evaluation as well as monitoring of the implementation of the policy of the quality. The scope of the ISO standardization included 8 (eight) major business processes which included the so-called WMM, Vice of curriculum, Vice head master of students affair, Vice headmaster of school, Public Realtion and the so-called HKI/HUBINinfrastructure, Administration, Library. The results revelaed that the compliance reached in a range of 88% to 100%.
