This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of integrating project-based learning and experiential learning models toward students’ interpersonal communication skill and creativity particularly in using English. This research was conducted by applying quantitative research method with factorial design 2X2 ANOVA The subjects were English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students in English Department of Universitas Muslim Nusantara (UMN) Al Washliyah Medan, Indonesia.The instrument was a questionaire with Likert scale and used to measure each formulated indicator. The data were analyzed by using multivariate ANOVA (MANOVA) The finding of the research showed that project-based learning and experiential learning models had a significant effect on students’ interpersonal communication skill and creativit. Moreover, interaction was found between communication skill and creativity of students taught by implementing the models. It indicated that ELT classroom activities will be more creative integrating these teaching models. It allows EFL learners to explore knowledge and information independently and to use English as natural as they can either in speaking or writing.
Guru SD Negeri 101789 Marindal I masih memiliki kreativitas karena mereka cenderung fokus kepada pemberian tugas, pekerjaan rumah dan aspek kognitif saja. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk untuk meningkatkan kreativitas dan sikap guru sd negeri 101789 desa marindal I dengan Implementasi Experiential-based Learning sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran abad 21 di era revolusi industri 4.0 dimana guru harus mampu meningkatkan kemampuan 4C, yaitu; critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, dan communication. Untuk mencapai tujuan, program ini merancang metode pelaksaan yang komprehensif yaitu, Fase awal adalah kegiatan awal persiapan, Fase inti adalah realisasi kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dirancang secara baik dengan metode sosialisasi, small group discussion, Pada fase akhir adalah evaluasi, pengembangan dan keberlanjutan dengan pendekatan Communicative Approach. Kemudian, observasi secara langsung dilakukan selama program dengan indikator keterlibatan, dan kepercayaan diri dimana data menunjukkan bahwa guru SD Negeri 101789 Marindal I mampu menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang inovatif, meningkatkan kesadaran guru tehadap Pembelajaran Abad 21, dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dalam mengimplementasikan model Experiential-based Learning dimulai dari perencanaan pembuatan project sesuai dengan mata pelajaran, perancangan tahap per tahap, dan menentukan indikator penilaian. Secara singkat, suasana pembelajaran di dalam kelas lebih interaktif dan inovatif karena guru tidak hanya fokus kepada pemberian nilai, tetap juga fokus kepada kebebasan siswa berkomunikasi dan berinteraksi antara semasa siswa, dan siswa dan guru sehingga kemampuan 4C, yaitu; critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, dan communication dapat tecapai.
21st Century Learning requires EFL students to enhance interpersonal communication skill, cognitive skill and creativity. Yet, the considerable problem faced by Indonesian EFL students was not being able to communicate with others by using English dexterously as they did not have much opportunities to practice their communication skill by using English appropriately. This research revealed teaching model collaboration that was project based learning and experiential based learning models to enhance interpersonal communication skill, cognitive skill and creativity of EFL students. A quantitative research method with factorial design 3X2 was applied, then two classes of English students of UMN Al Washliyah University were chosen as the sample of research. To collect the data, the instrument used were questionnaire with Likert scale and formative test. Based on data analysis, Multivariate Anova was applied to investigate teaching model collaboration significantly affected on interpersonal communication skill, cognitive skill and creativity of EFL students. Obviously, EFL students with higher creativity in project completion would be able to communicate with others, and achieve the cognitive skill. In brief, an innovative teaching model collaboration that engaged a comprehensive project definitely affected on how EFL students communicate with others by using English appropriately and creatively.
The community service program focuses on improving senior high school teachers’ ability in carrying out Islamic-based digital literacy assessment through Project-based Learning. It is empirically revealed by the research that Project-based Learning with video project serves considerable benefits, specifically, it leads to Islamic-based digital literacy assessment. The reality shows that teachers of MTS.Swasta Lab IKIP Al Washliyah located in Medan Amplas have never experienced digital literacy assessment journey since they tend to apply silent reading, and memorizing. Through this program, the teachers are comprehensively trained to implement, to design, to innovate the video project linking to Islamic values in which all values experienced by students are assessed based on digital literacy skill with available online application. Therefore, the assessment of Islamic-based digital literacy is carried out to gather the information of students’ process (reading, writing, and applying online digital tools) rather than scoring or numbers. Based on analysis, it is found that most teachers strongly agree with program that can be seen from six indicator achieved. It implies that it becomes challenging, yet authentic in involving teacher to have digital journey, particularly, in new normal era.
Permasalahan mitra yang dikemukan adalah keterbatasan waktu dalam proses pembelajaran dalam mengetahui pembelajaran kimia yang diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari melalui bahan-bahan kimia yang terdapat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan pelaksanaan ini adalah untuk mengetahuui bahan-bahan kimia yang digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari khususnya larutan asam basa dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan interaksi social (softkills). Mitra dalam kegiatan proses ini adalah peserta didik Mts Lab IKIP Al Washliyah Sekolah Binaan UMN Al Washliyah dengan sampel 15 peserta didik, dengan menerapkan metode dengan aplikasi Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) dengan pembelajaran dengan mengenal terlebih dahulu bahan-bahan kimia dalam sabun cair diantaranya Sodium Lauril Sulfat (SLS), STTP, Natrium Chloride and aquades serta pengharum, kegiatan juga memberikan kemampuan langsung dalam kelompok belajar, hingga merefleksi hasil yang diperoleh, sehingga peserta didik mampu menyelesaikan pertanyaan, dengan menggunakan teknik analisa untuk menilai kepercayaan diri dan interaksi social, dalam prosesnya mampu mengenal kimia, disimpulkan kedua faktor kepercayaan diri dan interaksi sangat mempengaruhi kegiatan dalam proses dan pengaplikasian contextual teaching learning sebesar 0.613.
