This study is a cross-sectional study with the objective to determine mismatch between school furniture and anthropometric measurement among primary school children in Mersing. The sample consisted of 91 primary school children (46 male and 45 female) from Year 2 and Year 5 in two schools in Mersing District, Malaysia. Seven anthropometric measurement (height, weight, popliteal height, buttock-popliteal length, hip breadth, shoulder height and elbow height while sitting) as well as 5 furniture dimensions (seat height, seat depth, seat width, backrest height and seat to desk height) were taken. Instruments used were Martyn type anthropometer set, ruler, height scale and weighing scale. Differences between genders in anthropometric measurements were also investigated in this study. Findings showed 100% high mismatch for seat height, seat depth, desk height respectively while 56% match and only 44% mismatch for backrest height among Year 2 children. Year 5 students reported contrary result with 79% mismatch for seat height, 91% for backrest height and 100% for both seat depth and desk height. There was no significant difference between genders for both age groups. In conclusion, there was a mismatch between furniture and children's anthropometric measurements. It is recommended that school furniture be redesigned so as to conform to the children's physiological measurement. The use of adjustable furniture can be taken into consideration in designing new furniture for school environments in order to meet all the differences in children anthropometry.
Skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) is a pelagic fish species that have important economic value in the northern and western waters of Aceh. Skipjack tuna is one of the dominant catch fish landed at the Fishing Port of Kutaraja, Banda Aceh. The dynamics population of skipjack tuna in the northern and western waters of Aceh need to be done to get information on the status of skipjack tuna in ocean. This research aims to determine the dynamic parameters of the population of skipjack tuna based on the growth parameters, length and weight relationship, length distribution, length at the first capture, mortality, and exploitation rate. The data collection was conducted in February to March 2020, located at the Fishing Port of Kutaraja, Lampulo, Banda Aceh. A total of 166 sample, were measured with stratified random sampling method. The FAO-ICLARM Stock Assessment Tools (FiSAT) program was used by analyze growth parameter, mortality parameters, and exploitation rate. The results showed that has a negative allometric growth pattern, with a length of fork length (FL) ranging from 25-51 cm. The length of first capture was 38,2 cm. The asymptotic length (L∞) of skipjack tuna was 84,78 cm with K value of 0.22/year and. The estimated natural mortality (M), fishing mortality (F), and total mortality (Z) were 0,5/year, 1.55/year, and 2.99/year respectively. The exploitation rate (E) of skipjack tuna was 0.83/year that indicated skipjack tuna in the Northern and Western waters of Aceh over-exploited.
Occupational stress is a major hazard for many workers. Increasing workloads, downsizing, overtime and shift work are just a few the many causes of stressful working condition. Moreover unhealthy work organization will not only affect the work performance but will affect the worker's health as well. With this in mind, a study was conducted to determine the prevalence of occupational stress and to identify the association between the organizational factors with stress level among factory workers. Through a cross sectional study, 91 manufacturing workers were randomly sampled and data was collected using a questionnaire, namely the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ). The validated self-administered Malay version of JCQ was used to verify the socio-demographic background, the stress level of the respondents and the factors contributed to work stress which is organizational factors. JCQ contains four factors which were the psychological demand (job demand), decision latitude (job control), social support and job insecurity. Overall the prevalence of occupational stress among the respondent was 25.3%. The result showed that there were significant associations between occupational stress and decision latitude (p<;0.001); psychological job demand (p<;0.001); and job insecurity (p=0.027). However, there was no significant association between occupational stress level and social support (p=0.433). This study showed that three out of four organizational factors had significant associations to occupational stress indicating unhealthy work organization. In addition as the prevalence is considered low, work stressors can be detected at an early stage. Therefore, preventive measure or intervention needs to implement accordingly to alleviate the negative consequences since the occupational stress can be considered as a major hazard for the workers.
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is a disease that causes the hajimena health center to be included in the top 9 health centers with dengue endemic areas. In 2021, the Incidence rate (IR) is 45.29 per 100,000 residents. One of the causes of this disease is due to the lack of role of community leaders in preventing DHF. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, motivation and information sources of community leaders on DHF prevention behavior. This type of research is quantitative research with an analytic research design and a cross sectional approach. The sample is 67 community leaders with 7 hamlet heads and 60 RTs taken using total sampling technique. With analysis using the Chi – square test. This research was conducted in October–March 2023. The results of the univariate analysis showed good knowledge of 61.19%, positive attitude of 58.21%, high motivation of 53.73%. Verbal information sources at 56.72% and non-verbal information sources at 43.28%. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and motivation with DHF prevention behavior with p-values (0.00), (0.00), and (0.00). There is no relationship between information sources and DHF prevention behavior (0.90). The need for the role of health workers to form a community or group of community leaders who are named or term "Tomato DHF" (community leaders prevent DHF) and activate counseling activities regarding DHF prevention with 3M Plus
Indian scad (Decapterus russelli) is an important commercial species that landed at the Fishing Port of Kutaradja, Banda Aceh. This research was conducted to investigate the impact of exploitation on D. russelli stock based on length-weight relationship, length distribution, length at first capture, von Bertalanffy growth parameters and function, mortality parameters, and exploitation rate. The data collection was conducted from February to March 2020 in the Fishing Port of Kutaradja, Lampulo, Banda Aceh. A total of 170 samples were measured with stratified random sampling method. Analysis of population dynamics parameters used the FAO-ICLARM Stock Assessment Tools (FiSAT) program. The results show that D. russelli has a positive allometric growth pattern, with a fork length (FL) ranging from 19.5-31.5 cm. The length of first capture was 23.1 cm. The asymptotic length (L∞) of D. russelli was 31.50 cm with a growth rate (k) of 0.88/year and fish age at length 0 (t 0 ) of 0.178/year. The estimated natural mortality (M), fishing mortality (F), and total mortality (Z) were 1.63/year, 2.22/year and 3.85/year respectively. The exploitation rate (E) of D. russelli was 0.58/year that indicated D. russelli in the northern and western waters of Aceh has been fully exploited.
