The present article describes the quantification of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) in Aspirin® using simultaneous potentiometric and conductometric titrations, as a suggestion for an experimental activity, for the Instrumental Analysis in graduate chemistry and pharmacy courses. Conductometric and potentiometric titrations was applied for ASA determination in Aspirin® and these results are in good accordance with the declared value of manufacturer, at a 95% confidence level. The experimental activity it is a simple and low cost, showing it to be used in experimental activities on teaching laboratories, generating gains in student learning.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
