AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) mendeskripsikan keefektifan model quantum teaching dengan media video animasi pada kelompok eksperimen dalam keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI, 2) mendeskripsikan keefektifan model konvensional dengan media video animasi pada kelompok kontrol dalam keterampilan menulis cerpen siswa kelas XI. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu desain Nonequivalent Control Group dengan metode eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XI MIPA 4 dan siswa kelas XI MIPA 5 di SMA Negeri 5 Purwokerto. Data yang digunakan dalam peneliian ini yaitu pretest dan posttest masing-masing kelas. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 1) model quantum teaching dengan media video animasi efektif digunakan dalam keterampilan menulis cerpen dengan sig. 0,000 <0,05, 2) model konvensional dengan media video animasi efektif digunakan dalam keterampilan menulis cerpen dengan sig. 0,097 >0,05. Media video animasi lebih efektif digunakan apabila bersamaan dengan model quantum teaching karena menunjukkan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 yang berarti Ha diterima, Ho ditolak terdapat perbedaan. AbstractThis study is aimed to 1) describe the effectiveness of quantum teaching model by using animation video as media to experiment group in the writing skill of creating short story for students grade XI, 2) to describe the effectiveness of conventional model by using animation video to control group in the writing skill of creating short story for students grade XI. The present study was categorized as quasi-experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group. The sample of the study was the students of grade XI MIPA 4 and students of grade XI MIPA 5 in SMA Negeri 5 Purwokerto. The data employed in the study was the score of pre-test and post-test of each class. The result showed that 1) Quantum teaching model by using animation video was effective to be used on writing short story by sig. 0.000 <0.05, 2) Conventional teaching model by using animation video was effective on writing short story by sig. 0.097 >0.05, 2. Animation video as media is more effective when it is used along with quantum teaching model for it shows the significance of 0.000 < 0.05 which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.
