Students' interest in mathematics is very influential to the achievement of learning outcomes, so the teacher is recommended to utilize the precise approach to enhance students' mathematics interest. This study aims to analyze the achievement of mathematics students' interest using the Concrete-Representation-Abstract (CRA) approach refers to primer mathematical skills. The study uses a quasi-experimental and a post-test design. The students in grade VII are the population in this study and use two groups were purposely selected, an experimental group that receives CRA and a control group that gets common learning (CL). The result shows that the mathematics interest' of students who received the CRA approach is higher than students who only received CL. Refers to the indicator of students' mathematics interest, the interaction with a teacher or friend to discuss the material scale gets the high score, and the lower score at the indicator diligently solving the assignment.
Mathematical representation ability is basic for others' mathematical ability, such as understanding ability, communication ability, reasoning ability, and problem-solving ability. The purpose of this research was to analyze the enhance students' mathematics representation ability using the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract Approach in the group (CPA-G) based on prior mathematical ability. The research method used the quasi-experimental with pre-response and post-response design. The population of this research was students grade VII. This research uses two classes which selected purposely, an experimental group that receives CPA-G and a control group that received regular learning (RL). Prior mathematical ability and mathematical representation ability tests were used as an instrument in this research. The result shows that the mathematical representation ability of students in high and middle of prior mathematical ability category, who received CPA-G higher than students who only received RL. This approach can enhance students' mathematical representation ability, especially on the visual and symbolic representation.
Analisis meta merupakan suatu metode analisis menggunakan effect size untuk merangkum berbagai penelitian untuk mendapatkan kesimpulan yang menyeluruh. Metode effect size odds ratio digunakan mengetahui perbedaan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol pada data COVID-19. Data penelitian bersumber dari referensi jurnal yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi-ekslusi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor risiko yang dapat mempengaruhi pasien COVID-19 meninggal dunia ditinjau dari penanganan Intensive Care Unit (ICU) di rumah sakit, jenis kelamin, dan usia pasien. Terdapat 12 referensi penelitian yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi yang dijadikan sebagai literatur analisis meta ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor risiko pasien COVID-19 meninggal dunia dipengaruhi oleh kategori penanganan pasien dengan ICU, jenis kelamin pasien dan usia pasien yang masing-masing memiliki nilai odds ratio 9,51 , 2,34 , dan 0,23. Pasien yang mendapatkan penanganan ICU memiliki risiko lebih besar untuk meninggal dunia dibandingkan pasien kontrol (tanpa penanganan ICU). Pasien laki-laki memiliki risiko meninggal dunia meningkat dibandingkan pasien perempuan. Sedangkan untuk pasien berusia kurang dari 60 tahun memiliki risiko meninggal dunia lebih rendah sebesar 77% dibandingkan pasien berusia 60 tahun keatas
Several previous researchers indicated that students’ mathematical representation ability is still low because most of them have perceived that mathematics is very difficult, boring, not very practical, and has many abstract theorems that are very hard to understand. Another cause is the teaching and learning process used, which is mechanistic without considering students’ needs. Learning is more known as the process of transferring knowledge to students. Let students construct their knowledge with the physical and mental reflection that is done by activity in the new knowledge. This article is a literature study. This article aims to examine the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract approach theoretically to improve students’ mathematics representation ability. The conclusion of this literature study is the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract approach can be used as an alternative to improve students’ mathematical representation ability.
