A scheme for in-process diameter gauging by a metering-disk rolling method is considered. The systematic-error components of in-process diameter gauging in cylindrical-surface processing on a lathe are described.Instruments and systems for in-process gauging using a metering-disk (MD) rolling method are widely used in various branches of industry. We shall review only a few of the studies of MD in-process gauging. The in-process gauging system developed at the Kramatorsk Scientific-Research Institute of Rolling Machines and Lathes [1] for sheet cutting as well as systems for coiling sheets on reels [2] and automatic correction of the positions of elevator compartments in tall buildings [3] have proven to be effective. The rolling method is appropriate for in-process gauging of sheet thickness by controlling the distance between the rollers [3]. At the Ukraine Scientific Center (Kiev), on the basis of [4], a device was proposed for in-process monitoring of the application of scales on tape measures. Instruments with MD in-process gauging for lathes have been developed at the Krasnoyarsk Agricultural Institute [5]. Similar work has been performed at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute [6].last revolution, data on the specified diameter of the MO are sent from a logistics device 7 to bidirectional counter 14. The diameter is measured in the next several revolutions of the MO. Then, in the next revolution of the MO, the difference between the
