Synthesis and Characterization of the New Strontium BorogermanateSr 3-x/2B2-xGe4+xO14 (x = 0.32). -Small, colorless crystals of the title compound are prepared by reaction of SrO, SrCO 3, GeO2, and H3BO3 in a NaF/KF flux (Pt crucible, 1100 C, 38 h). The new compound is characterized by single crystal XRD, Raman spectroscopy, and IR spectroscopy. It crystallizes in the trigonal space group P321 with Z = 1. The structure contains distorted SrO 8 cubes, GeO6 octahedra, GeO4 tetrahedra, and BO 4 tetrahedra. -(PETERMUELLER, B.; PETSCHNIG, L. L.; WURST, K.; HEYMANN, G.; HUPPERTZ*, H.; Inorg.
