Our study explores the influence of age and experience on stress and depression and the relationship between stress and depression among women information technology (IT) professionals in Chennai, India. The present study aimed (1) to find out the level of stress and depression experienced by women IT professionals, (2) to understand the impact of age and experience on stress and depression, and (3) to study the relationship between stress and depression. The study was conducted in Chennai, India with a sample of 500 women IT professionals. The sample selection was done by a convenience sampling method. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive one-way analysis of variance and Pearson’s correlation test. Results showed that the women IT professionals experience moderate level of overall stress and stress dimensions. This study also reveals that 84% of the respondents experience medium level of depression and also suggest that age and experience significantly influence the overall stress and depression experienced by the employees. Our study shows that there might be a strong relationship between overall stress and depression.
The Bibliometric analysis has been conducted with 98 contributions published in the journal selected between a period of 2012 and 2018. The analysis covers mainly on each article, year wise distribution of contributions, and number of authorship, volume wise authorship and the single and multi-authored papers. The highest number 65 (66.33 %) articles were contributed by joint authors and the rest of 33 (33.7%) articles contributed by a single author. The degree of collaboration is 0.66. The result revealed that the highest number of contributions,i.e.,20 (20.4 %) were published in the year 2018.
Writing, like any art, can only be improved through practice, and not just by following the rules. India is third in line when it comes to academic writing and publishing. Yet, most of the research scholars find it very difficult to excel in academic and business writing. Here, we discuss the state of academic writing among research scholars, the various factors impacting this issue, and what the possible practices could be to overcome these from a research scholar’s perspective.
The intention to quit has drawn attention in the context of employee attrition, with a focus on its antecedents. A related aspect that requires attention is the outcome of the intention to quit, where little research has been done, especially in the Indian context. The present study explores social benefit support, personal factors, work-family conflict, and work-life balance as results of the intention to exit the insurance sector of the Cuddalore district. These factors become critical in the context of women because employees who want to quit can become less productive or even dysfunctional for the organization. Interviews and a questionnaire-based survey were used in this research. The survey was conducted using software professionals with less than four years' work experience, with results based on 650 responses. Total find out infinite population -1200, Confidence levels =95%, Margin of Values = 2.5%, Select Sample Size=650, Quota sampling the first results show that, as assumed, the intention to quit leads to lower performance The first results show that, as assumed, the intention to quit leads to lower performance. This woman is understood to the social support, personal factors, work-family conflict, and work-life balance clear pattern of the organization.
This paper analyses publication pattern in the journal titled “Asian Journal of Information Science and Technology for the period between 2011to 2017. The analyses cover mainly the number of articles, authorship pattern, year wise distribution of journals etc. The result showed that out of 151 articles single author contributed 34 (22.5 %) articles 117 (77.5 %) articles were contributed by joint authors.
