Objective: to describe the epidemiological profile of accidental tetanus cases (ICD-A35) in a referral hospital in the State of Pernambuco, during a 7-year term, between 2007-2013. Method: this is a descriptive, retrospective, quantitative study based on secondary data.Results: there were 126 cases confirmed, mostly male (89%) and from the urban area (77%). The most frequent professions were agricultural workers in general and masons (31.7%), with age group between 35-49 years old (39.7%). The perforation was the most evident injury (48.4%). The lower limbs were the most affected region (65.1%), and the predominant clinical sign was trismus (90.5%). The lethality rate was 19.0%, and the mean length of hospital stay was 49.4 days.
Conclusions:Thus, tetanus, notwithstanding the easy availability of an efficient vaccine remains a public health problem in Pernambuco, presenting high lethality and a long time in the service.
Objective: To identify the relationships between the statements of nursing diagnoses for children with kidney diseases prepared according to the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) with the diagnoses of NANDA International (NANDA-I). Methods: Methodological study operationalized by the steps: 1) Survey of clinical findings through interviews and physical examination with children; 2) Elaboration of nursing diagnoses through Gordon’s clinical judgment; 3) Cross-mapping of diagnostic statements between the NANDA-I and ICNP® classification systems; 4) Content validation using the Delphi technique, in two rounds, with specialist nurses. Results: 90 children participated. A total of 151 diagnoses were made, of which 66.3% (n=100) used ICNP® terminology and 33.7% (n=51) used NANDA-I; 55 diagnoses showed equivalence of meanings. Conclusions: Cross-mapping of diagnoses was achieved starting from the reality of children, using clinical reasoning and validation by specialist nurses.
Introduction: Reception with Risk Rating consists of strategies that ensure the inclusion of Humanization in health and reduces negative health indicators. Objective: to analyze the composition of the reception sheet of a hospital located in south-central Ceará. Method: this is a documental research, exploratory and descriptive with a qualitative approach. Results: After documentary analysis of the report is concluded that the composition of this meets the needs of the initial evaluation of the patient. Conclusion: It becomes necessary to its reformulation of the reception sheet, as there is a shortage of some items, such as vital signs. the changes suggested optimize the quality of assistance in the reception.
Relatar o conhecimento de enfermeiros acerca da diabetes mellitus gestacional. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de campo descritiva com abordagem qualitativa realizado com enfermeiros cadastrados na estratégia de saúde da família em um distrito sanitário de cidade paraibana. A coleta de dados foi realizada nos meses de setembro a outubro de 2019 com 18 enfermeiros. Os dados foram organizados por categorias temáticas resultantes da junção de todas as falas coletadas e separadas por unidade de sentido. As categorias temáticas apresentadas na discussão foram “identificação da diabetes mellitus gestacional”; “acompanhamento x encaminhamento”; “comportamentos de risco”; “muitas não podem seguir porque não tem condições financeiras”. O entendimento dos enfermeiros sobre as consequências ocasionadas pelo diabetes gestacional é significante, pois interfere na qualidade da assistência ofertada. Foi evidente a necessidade de cuidado diferenciado a gestante com base no fator sócio situacional.
