Hospital librarians can promote themselves and their libraries by collaborating with institutional departments on significant projects or programs beyond traditional library services that support the mission of their respective institutions. This article reports on one such project, the Annual Academic Competition, at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, now an integral part of the North Shore-LongIsland Jewish Health System.
