This research aims to know and describe about 1) background of Syair Gulung in Ketapang Malay society of West Kalimantan, 2) Educative values contained in Syair Gulung, 3) Potential of Syair Gulung as a community-based disaster education efforts in Ketapang Malay society. This research uses qualitative research method with form of stuck case study strategy. Sources of data used are informants, places and events, and documents. Data collection techniques used direct observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and document studies. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data validity uses triangulation and data analysis techniques using interactive analysis techniques.Syair Gulung is a typical Malay cultural art. The educational values that exist in the Syair Gulung can be developed as a tool of dissemination of disaster education which recently happened such as forest fire and flood. Natural disasters that occur in the Ketapang community can not be separated from the fading and shifting values of local wisdom that developed in the community. As a preventive form for the preservation of the natural environment, it reinvents the educational values implicit in Syair Gulung contributing greatly in the effort to preserve the nature of the disaster. Educational theories of local wisdom and disaster risk education are important in helping the realization of a disaster-conscious society. Community communities are highly effective targets for awareness of the importance of disaster education.
The learning of environmental history developed in Ketapang District can be utilizedas an education for natural disaster risk reduction. President Soeharto's policy on granting forest concessions affected the destruction of forests, one of which was in Ketapang District, West Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. Vulnerability to the impact of natural disasters occurs in the Dayak Jalai community who lives around the forest. Disaster risk reduction efforts are carried out by the community and the government by utilizing the environmental history in the community. The research objective is to explore the potential of environmental history and its development for disaster risk reduction, especially the Jelai Dayak community in Ketapang Regency. Research method is a qualitative approach. Data validity uses triangulation, and data analysis uses interactivity. The result of the study shows that the environmental history has the potential aspect as an effort to reduce disaster risk in the Dayak Jalai community as a learning resource. Studying environmental history means finding the root cause of disaster triggers through past mass events to anticipate disasters early. Disaster risk reduction innovation is carried out by developing environmental history to shape the character of the community who is aware of environmental sustainability in order to increase awareness of the coming of natural disasters.
Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relation of GCG implementation and diversification strategy in the family company and its effect on the corporate value that is proxied with returns of corporate share (cumulative abnormal return - CAR). Methodology: This study used control variables which were size, age, and growth of the company. The hypothesis test was done by using multiple regression and an average T-test. The samples of this study were companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange that have fulfilled the characteristics of concentrated share ownership by one family. This formulated two-equation models i.e. Dependent variable for equation model I was diversification strategy and for equation model II was corporate value. Results: The result of this study shows that management compensation, independent commissioners, and managerial ownership positively affect, while the number of the audit committee and leverage ratio do not affect diversification strategy. The next testing result was a diversification strategy applied by the family company that positively affects corporate value. Implications: In order to conduct a controlling function, a company must plan the existence of good corporate governance (GCG) that organizes the relation and responsibility between many parties involved in the company, that a number of regulations, policies, and procedures. The implementation of GCG is expected able to guarantee the action of management in line with the interest of shareholders.
