0Habitat loss and fragmentation causes decline of insect populations. Odonata (both dragonflies 2 1 and damselflies) are especially threatened, because they are notably influenced by both aquatic 2 2 3 1 degree of land use intensification, but increased with the length of watercourses. Our findings, 3 2 both on local and landscape scales demonstrated the importance of terrestrial environment on 3 3Odonata. Based on our findings we stress the importance of partial watercourse clearing, and 3 4 maintenance of traditional farm management based on small parcel farming near watercourses to 3 5 maintain diverse and healthy Odonata assemblages. 3 6 3 7 4 2Odonata, but beside this, adults need resource-rich terrestrial habitats as well for maturation, 4 3 feeding, resting, and mating 4 . Furthermore, Odonata are also sensitive to the landscape 4 4 composition and configuration; their sensitivity to landscape can even exceed those of water 4 5 hydrography and chemistry or other local ecological parameters describing the aquatic 4 6 environment 5 . The presence and abundance of Odonata along watercourses are also affected by 4 7several conditions like water quality 6 , competition between larvae 7 , competition between adults 4 8 8 , dispersal ability of adults 9 , and the surrounding landscape 10 . 4 9
