ResumenEn este artículo trataremos de aportar evidencias extraídas de una investigación cualitativa con mujeres deportistas. Mediante el desarrollo de historias de vida y entrevistas, analizamos las presiones que, especialmente a partir de la adolescencia, sufrieron por parte de su entorno social para abandonar una práctica deportiva que se consideraba «poco adecuada» para ellas. Se trata de mujeres futbolistas que, hoy en día, han seguido practicando este deporte de forma federada; sin embargo los relatos sirven para definir el complejo mundo de las relaciones de género en el ámbito deportivo y, sobre todo, ponen de manifiesto la utilización de estrategias discursivas como la homobofia y el sexismo para reconducir unos cuerpos, las de las jóvenes deportistas, que parecen alejarse de los modelos de feminidad hegemónicos. AbstractIn this paper we will try to provide evidence from qualitative research with women athletes. Through the development of life stories and interviews, we analyze the pressures which, particularly during adolescence, suffered by their social environment to leave a sport considered «not just right» for them. It is about women footballers who have continued today practicing this sport in a federated form. However the stories serve to define the complex world of relations of gender in sport and, above all,
People’s relations with places are frequently saturated with emotions. For places, it is possible to have feelings and bonds similar to those that are established between people and equally ambivalent. The perception that one has of places plays an important role in the production of emotions and, in this sense, the home provokes in those who reside in it, although especially in housewives, both negative and positive emotions. The testimonies given by a group of rural women from southwestern Spain allow me to establish a series of metaphors and antinomies of the home that transform it into a source of both satisfaction and dissatisfaction. Understood in this way, the home is neither a natural and desirable setting for women nor the locus that lays the foundation for their alienation but also a place of creation and of recreation of women; a fortress, prison, a place of conflict and of security.
This article proposes an intervention from the field of social sciences to improve the knowledge of informal caregivers about care for the elderly. We analyze the social and cultural relationships that support the informal care culture in Spain. Some of the most important factors that are an obstacle to the professionalization of the sector are presented. The profiles of the informal caregivers are established, highlighting that most of them are women, whether they are family members or not. Furthermore, we find a prominent role of immigrant women in the non-professional care sector. We also analyzed the different relationships that groups related to informal care of the elderly have with technologies, highlighting mobile phones and instant messaging applications. With this result, we proposed the public policies of care for the elderly to contemplate training actions transmitted through the mobile phone and messaging applications.
