In a CO-O2 stoichiometric mixture, the kinetic parameters, reaction order, rate constant and activation energy of CO oxidation over a Pt/SnO2 catalyst have been measured using a fixed bed flow reactor near 0~ The results show that it is a firstorder reaction. The activation energy of CO oxidation over Pt/SnO2 prepared with SnOz calcined at 300~ was approximately 21 kJ/mol. The activation energy of CO oxidation over Pt/SnO2 changed slowly with SnOz calcination temperature above 400~ and reached approximately 45 kJ/mol.
The catalytic combustion of various organic compounds has been investigated over noble and non-noble metal catalysts using a fixed bed. It was concluded that the activity order of different organic compounds on a noble metal catalyst is toluene > 2-butanone > benzene > n-heptane = isopropyl alcohol > acrylonitrile > cyclohexane. On non-noble metal catalyst, it is isopropyl alcohol > 2obutanone > acrylonitrile > toluene> n-neptune > cyclohexane > benzene. In order to compare the thermal stability of catalysts, the catalytic reaction of toluene has been studied over noble and non-noble metal catalysts which were calcined at various temperatures up to 900~ for 3 h.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
