This means, ESE has significant positive effect, while innovation has a positive relationship but insignificant. Interventions in the form of booklets that inform how to increase ESE. The booklet is already conducted trials on five founders. Riyanti, 2003; Chen, dkk, 1998; Kaplan & Norton, 2006). This research aimed to test the internal and external validity of the Indonesian Entrepreneurial Competence Inventory constructed based on the situational judgment test (SJT) model. Spencer's entrepreneurial competence theory and interviews with entrepreneurs were employed to build the items. The internal construct validity was tested by applying confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). In contrast, the external construct validity was tested by implementing correlations with other tests that were theoretically correlated with entrepreneurial competency, namely, the previous entrepreneurial competence (Likert-scale model) and risk behavior. The predictive validity was analyzed using correlation testing with an instrument assessing balanced scorecard measurement of entrepreneurial achievement. A sample of 149 entrepreneurs from industrial cities in Indonesia was recruited via convenience sampling. The CFA analyses showed that nine dimensions of the Indonesian Entrepreneurial Competencies Inventory were valid. In the correlation testing with risk-taking behavior and business success, all dimensions were significantly valid, except the see and act on opportunity dimension. However, in the correlation with the previous entrepreneurial competence scale, a significant correlation was found only with a commitment to work. In further analysis, the correlation between dimensions of the current inventory and dimensions of the previous scale showed significant correlations between the competence of seeing opportunity and commitment to work, assertiveness, and persuasion. The impact to the future research and practice application were discussed.

This research was intended to obtain the overviews of psycap and business success of Chinese, Minangnese, and Javanese entrepreneurs. There was a total of 207 entrepreneurs involved as respondents. There were two instruments used in this study: the Psychological Capital Scale and the Balanced Scorecard. Data analysis method applied to measure psychological capital was a descriptive statistic. The result showed that Javanese entrepreneurs had a very high level of psychological capital, while both Chinese and Minangnese entrepreneurs hold on the same high degree. Meanwhile, the data analysis regarding the successfulness of business showed that most of the Javanese entrepreneurs reached a high level of success, Chinese entrepreneurs were average, and Minangnese entrepreneurs were low.
Tracing the life story of an entrepreneur, many ups and downs occur and are difficult to map in detail, but their track record can be clearly illustrated through the medium of film. This research aims to map out the key visuals through the scenes of Tampan Tailor, as one of the films that promoted entrepreneurship in Indonesia, through multimodality. Multimodality research will use the mixture of Cultural Performance Theory by Victor Turner and 13 Indicators of Entrepreneurship Competency by Spencer & Spencer in order to map the key elements of the film scenes. This research relies on a qualitative approach with Multimodality Discourse Analysis by O’Halloran. The visual data collected in the research shows that entrepreneurship capabilities comes from the hardships the character faced along the story, even though the character does not contribute directly to tailoring business for the first half of the film. This is strengthened by financial condition of the character and his daily life to develop his entrepreneurial skills. Commitment, Perseverance, High Performance Focus and Opportunity are the key factors to develop entrepreneur’s competency as displayed in Tampan Tailor film. Throughout the visual scenes in the film, the audience can identify how the main character develops his soft and hard skills necessary to become a quality entrepreneur. It can be concluded from this research that there are numerous ways to express how entrepreneurial skills should be developed. These skills can develop not only in their field of expertise, but also outside their field which highlights the importance of working experience in order to become an entrepreneur. Keywords: Tampan tailor, entrepreneurship competency, cultural performance, film, multimodality.
