Mehta et al. 1 proposed that plasma-catalytic NH3 synthesis with excited N2 allows for conversions beyond thermal equilibrium. We show that this is indeed possible with experimental data for Ru-based...
In this work we study oxygen interstitial defects (O i ) in a silicontechnology-based microreactor with an integrated attenuated total internal reflection (ATR) crystal as a function of an externally applied potential by means of attenuated total internal reflection infrared spectroscopy (ATR-IR). A reduction of the 1727 cm −1 O i IR absorption band is observed with increasing potential. We evidence that this band is related to the presence of O i , which enables detection of O i by ATR-IR spectroscopy. The observed reduction with increasing potential is ascribed to an increase in temperature, due to resistive heating of the silicon.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
