SUMMARY:Endothelial cells in culture can be seeded onto a variety of surfaces so as to yield a confluent monolayer. In some instances the surface required for experimental or clinical applications may be hard to endothelialize. Special techniques for seeding endothelial cells onto filters, grafts, and tubes are described. Adaptations of these techniques may allow endothelial cells to be introduced onto a variety of artificial biomaterials and prostheses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
