The study investigated the relationship between remuneration and job performance of teachers in government-aided secondary schools in Western Uganda. Remuneration was studied in terms of basic pay, income security schemes, and bonuses and allowances. Teachers’ job performance was considered in terms of classroom teaching, management of students, discipline and regularity and interpersonal relations. The study adopted a cross-sectional research design using the quantitative approach on a sample of 333 teachers. Data were collected using both a questionnaire. Descriptive results revealed that job performance of teachers high and remuneration moderate. Inferential analysis showed that while income security schemes had a positive and significant influence on teachers' job performance, basic pay had a positive but insignificant influence on teachers' job performance, and bonuses and allowances had a negative insignificant influence on teachers' job performance. It was concluded that low remuneration to teachers impedes high job performance, especially when basic pay is low and there is a lack of bonuses and allowances. Existence of income security schemes increases the job performance of teachers. Therefore, it was recommended that stakeholders involved in the management of schools such as Government, headteachers, and Boards of governors, devise means of enhancing the remuneration of teachers. Teachers should be given bonuses for exceeding performance and allowances when they do extra work. The pension plan and social welfare benefits should also be made attractive to increase the job performance of teachers.
The study analyzed the relationship between remuneration and discipline of employees in private universities in Uganda. It involved 385 respondents from seven private chartered and accredited universities. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire whose validity and reliability was confirmed through Factor Analysis and Cronbach Alpha test. Descriptive analysis involved the use of means, while Pearson Linear Correlation Coefficient was used to test the hypothesis. The results revealed that remuneration was a positive significant determinant of discipline of employees. In conclusion remuneration was an important element in that it influenced the discipline of employees in private universities. It was recommended that managers of Organisations such as private universities should put emphasis on their remuneration strategies which will influence the discipline of their employees and thus their rentation.

Head teachers supervision practices were studied in terms of supervision behavior, support and communication. Job performance of teachers was considered in terms of classroom teaching, management of students, discipline as well as regularity and interpersonal relations. The study adopted a cross-sectional research design using the quantitative approach on a sample of 333 teachers. Data were collected using both the questionnaire. Data were analysed using quantitative. Inferential analysis showed that while supervision behaviors and support had a positive and significant influence on job performance of teachers, supervision communication did not. It was concluded that supervision behaviors and support are important for the job performance of teachers. Therefore, it is recommends that head teachers should provide effective supervision to teachers because such a practice has a significant positive influence on teachers’ job performance.
The paper discussed the importance of women education and the socio economic development in Fika local government area of Yobe state, Nigeria. The paper focused on the concept of women education, the concept of socio-economic development and the importance of women education in socio-economic development. This study employed quantitative approach with descriptive correlation design and also the total population of 66901 and the sample size of 382 respondents while questionnaire and interview guide were used as research instruments to collect required data.The study also used sample of 382 respondents, frequency and percentage techniques, means and standard deviation and finally, Pearson linear correlation co-efficient (PLCC) to establish the relationship between women education and the element of socio economic development in Fika local government area of Yobe state. The findings of this study revealed that there is positive and very significant relationship between women education and their household income level, and a positive relationship exist with standard of living, economic development and women education but this is not significant. The recommendation of this study is that all effort to empower women should be directed toward educational empowerment in the state as this is significant to overall economic growth in the state. This is because women education in terms of socio-economic development have significant effect on their family,social and economic development of a nation as a whole..
The study examined the cultural factors and sexual practices of women living with HIV/AIDS in South West, Nigeria. Three states were chosen out of the six states in South West. One hundred and Eighty Three women living with HIV/AIDS were drawn from the three states. Descriptive survey research design was used for the study. A questionnaire titled “Questionnaire on women living with HIV/AIDS (QWLH/A)” was administered on the respondents. The findings revealed that there is high significant relationship between cultural factor and sexual practices in placing women on the risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. Based on the findings, it was recommended that government should introduce sex education for young Nigerians. The practice of widow inheritance can die slowly by testing both parties involved before the inheritance is carried out.
