ABSTRACT Objective: characterize the socioeconomic profile of high-risk pregnancy treated at prenatal clinic in the city of Aracaju, Sergipe, and compare it with the control group. Methodology: observational, prospective and controlled study, held in the period of January-March 2014. The high risk patients were coming from the Center for Integrated Health Care for Women and the low risk group was coming from the Family Health Units. The survey obtained an N of 200 patients who responded to a structured questionnaire.
