RESUMO -A abóbora (Cucurbita moschata Duch.) é uma cultura de importância para a agricultura familiar da região Nordeste do Brasil. No entanto, a ocorrência do prateamento das folhas da aboboreira ocasionado pela mosca-branca, Bemisia tabaci biótipo B limita sua produção, causando prejuízos aos agricultores. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a eficiência de extratos vegetais sobre o nível populacional de ninfas de mosca-branca em abóbora cv. Jacarezinho. O experimento foi instalado em campo experimental, em blocos casualizados, constituído de seis tratamentos e três repetições. As aplicações dos extratos vegetais foram feitas com intervalo de sete dias, fazendo-se uso de substâncias extraídas das seguintes plantas: Palavras-chave: Abóbora. Inseticidas vegetais. Pragas agrícolas-controle.ABSTRACT -The squash (Cucurbita moschata Duch.) is an important crop for family farmers in the northeast of Brazil. However, the occurrence of leaf silvering caused by the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci biotype B, limits production, causing losses to farmers. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of plant extracts on the population levels of whitefly nymphs on the squash cv. Jacarezinho. The experiment was conducted at an experimental field, in a randomized block design consisting of six treatments and three replications. Applications of plant extracts were made at an interval of seven days, making use of substances extracted from the following plants: Ipomoea carnea subsp. Fistulosa, castor bean (Ricinus communis L.), Tingui (Mascagnia rigida Griseb), cardo-santo (Argemone mexicana L.), and the commercial oil product Natuneem ®. All of the plant extracts were efficient in the control of the B. Tabaci nymphs, with R. communis (75.49%), M. rigida (73.99%), I. carnea (72.24%), neem oil (70.4%) and A. mexicana (69.16%).
The main objectives of this study were to determine the content of secondary metabolites (carotenoids, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, and tannins) of Argemone mexicana L., Ipomoea carnea Jacq. subsp. Fistulosa (Martius ex Choisy), Amorimia rigida (A.Juss.) W. R. Anderson, Ricinus communis L. and Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr. & L. M. Perry using UV-VIS spectroscopy, and evaluating the bioactivity of the ethanolic extracts on citrus blackfly eggs (Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby, 1915). Pera sweet orange leaves infested with citrus blackfly eggs were treated by immersion in 0.5, 1.0, 5.0, and 10%; each replicate consisted of 30 eggs. The experimental design was completely randomized, with seven treatments and four replications. Three immersions of leaves with eggs were performed, and the mortality was evaluated seven days after the procedure. Leaves were placed in Petri dishes and kept in incubators [25±1°C; relative humidity (RH) 60±5% and 12 hours]. S. aromaticum peduncle presented high content of tannins and phenolic compounds, while R. communis leaves showed high content of phenolic compounds. The commercial product Bioneem © caused egg infeasibility greater than 85% at all concentrations. Treatments (10%) that caused the greatest egg mortality were Bioneem © (94.74%), R. communis extract (81.58%), and the extract of S. aromaticum peduncle (80.57%). Fistulosa (Martius ex Choisy), Amorimia rigida (A.Juss.) W. R. Anderson, Ricinus communis L. e Syzygium aromaticum L. (L.) Merr. & L. M. Perry, bem como avaliar a bioatividade de extratos etanólicos sobre ovos da mosca -negra-dos-citros (Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby, 1915). Folhas de laranja Pêra infestadas com mosca-negra-dos-citros foram imersas nos tratamentos, a 0,5%, 1,0%, 5,0% e 10% de concentração; cada replicata foi constituída por 30 ovos. O delineamento foi inteiramente casualizado, sete tratamentos e quatro repetições. Foram realizadas três imersões das folhas com ovos, tendo sido avaliada a mortalidade sete dias após as imersões. As folhas foram alocadas em placa de Petri e mantidas em câmaras climáticas (25±1°C; U.R 60±5% e 12 horas). O pedúnculo do craveiro-da-india apresentou alto teor de taninos e compostos fenólicos, e folhas de mamona apresentavam alto teor de compostos fenólicos. O produto comercial Bioneem © , em todas as concentrações, causou inviabilidade de ovos superior a 85%. Os tratamentos (10%) que causaram a maior inviabilidade de ovos foram o Bioneem © (94,74%), o extrato de mamona (81,58%) e o extrato do pedúnculo do craveiro-da-india (80,57%).
RESUMO:A citricultura brasileira lidera mundialmente a produção de suco concentrado de laranja. A presença da mosca-negra-dos--citros Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) em pomares citrícolas brasileiros tem gerado problemas ao agronegócio, devido aos danos e medidas inadequadas de controle. O controle natural por ação de fungos entomopatogênicos é comum em regiões com alta precipitação, sendo esses agentes importantes componentes do manejo integrado. O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar fungos entomopatogênicos associados à mosca-negra-dos-citros na região Sul do estado da Bahia. Foram coletadas folhas de laranjeira (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) e de lima-Tahiti (Citrus latifolia Tann.) infestadas com ovos, ninfas e pupários da mosca-negra-dos-citros em pomares nos municípios de Ilhéus e Laje, Bahia. Fragmentos de colônias dos fungos foram desinfetados com álcool 70% e hipoclorito de sódio a 2% e, posteriormente, com água destilada. Após secagem, o material foi colocado em placas de Petri com BDA e cloranfenicol, em seguida alocadas em câmaras climatizadas do tipo BOD (27 ± 2 ºC, 12 horas de fotofase) até a produção de esporos. Após o isolamento, os fungos foram recolocados em placas de Petri com BDA, as quais ficaram sob luz fluorescente contí-nua durante 30 dias para estimular o crescimento e a produção de esporos. Isolados dos fungos obtidos foram preservados em tubos de ensaio contendo BDA e óleo mineral, e armazenados a 18 ºC em câmara climatizada. Os fungos entomopatogênicos associados à mosca-negra-dos-citros na região Sul da Bahia foram Aschersonia cf. aleyrodis Webber e Aegerita webberi Fawcett. The presence of citrus blackfly Aleurocanthus woglumi Ashby (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) in Brazilian citrus orchards has led to agribusiness problems due to damages and inadequate control measures. Entomopathogenic fungi act as natural control in high precipitation regions, being important components of integrated management. The objective of this work was to identify entomopathogenic fungi associated with citrus blackfly in the southern region of the state of Bahia. Orange (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) and Tahiti lime (Citrus latifolia Tann.) leaves infested with citrus blackfly eggs, nymphs and pupae were collected in orchards in the municipalities of Ilhéus and Laje, Bahia, Brazil. Fragments of fungi colonies were disinfected with 70% alcohol and 2% sodium hypochlorite, and then washed with distilled water. After drying, the material was placed in Petri dishes with PDA and chloramphenicol, which were placed in bio-oxygen demand (BOD) incubators (27 ± 2 ºC, 12-hour photophase) until spore production. After isolation, the fungi were replaced in PDA Petri dishes and kept under continuous fluorescent light for 30 days to stimulate growth and spore production.
