Electron Impact Mass spectra of Some 3H -1,4-Benzodiazepine-Z,5-(yl,4H)-dionesWe report here the electron impact (E1)-induced fragmentation behaviour of some 3H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2,5-(lH,4H)diones (1-9) which were recently prepared by us as new intermediates in the synthesis of fused 1,4-benzodiazepines of pharmacological importance.' Compounds 1-9 are obtained in good yields by reaction of the corresponding isatoic anhydride and amino acid in glacial acetic acid under reflux and characterized by spectral study.
