This study focused on reviewing attitudes of women towards leisure activities in terms of different variables. The population of the study was consisted of women who were aged between 18 and 65 and lived in Mersin Province while the sample of the study was consisted of 214 women who participated in the study voluntarily. As data collection tools; Information Request Form and Leisure Attitude Scale (LAS) were used. To measure participants' physical activity level; International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) were used. Normality of the distributions was tested with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic that swept the world in the current century, social relations were reviewed, curfews were imposed for certain age groups, and face to face communication and collective behaviors were questioned, and what to do or not to do is the most discussed group, undoubtedly, there have been individuals over the age of 65. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between leisure activity types and life satisfaction and health perception in individuals over sixty years old. The population of the study consists of individuals aged sixty and over living in Mersin. A total of 391 volunteers were selected from this population using a purposive sampling method. As a data collection tool in research; Life Satisfaction Scale and Health Perception Scale was used in this research. To determine the frequency of participation of the participants in the leisure activity types, a leisure activity type questionnaire including six different activity types was used. Spearman Correlation Analysis Technique was used to determine whether there was a statistically significant relationship between life satisfaction, health perception and leisure time interest and the error margin was taken as 0,05 for all analyzes. As a result of the analysis; While the leisure activity types preferred by the elderly are "home-centered social activities" and "cultural and entertainment activities", the least preferred activity is "physical activities" and "volunteering and social responsibility activities". The highest relationship between life satisfaction and leisure activity type in elderly men is between volunteering and social responsibility activities (r = 0.206), while it is between cultural and recreational activities (r = 0.286) for elderly women. Leisure activity, which has the highest relationship with perception of health, was found to be hobbies and indoor activities in both women (r = 0.413) and men (r = 0.418).
This study focused on studying parameters related to physical activities of users of park and recreation areas. The study population was consisted of those participants who visited park and recreation areas in Ankara Province while the study sample was consisted of 289 voluntary participants. 123 participants were male participants and 166 participants were female participants. In the study; "Physical Activity Venue Evaluation Scale" which was developed by Stanis et al. (2009) and Turkish adaptation study of which was conducted by was used as data collection tool. To analyze the data found in the study; descriptive statistical methods (percentages/frequency), t-Test for pairwise comparisons, one-way analysis of variance for determining the differences among two or more independent groups and Post-Hoc Bonferroni Test were employed. It was identified that the participants' physical activity venue evaluation scale scores did not differ statistically in terms of such variables as gender, educational status, marital status and body mass index. However, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the scores of physical activity venue evaluation scale, choice of physical activity space on behalf of those who did not perform physical activities regularly in terms of variable of performing physical activities regularly. Also; a statistically significant difference was found in the scores of physical activity location selection, factors preventing physical activity participation on behalf of those aged 42-53 years in terms of age variable. As a result of the study; it may be suggested that variables of gender, educational status, marital status and body mass index did not affect choosing physical activity space and physical activity participation whereas variable of doing sports regularly affected choosing physical activity space and age variable affected frequency of physical activity participation.
