Contato para correspondência: AbstractIntroduction: According to the National Curriculum Guidelines for Universities, established by the Ministry of Education and Culture, it is necessary the insertion of students of health undergraduate courses in the Brazilian public health system to acquire knowledge and experiences. Objective: Identify and analyze the opinion of users of a Family Health Unit about the presence and activity of nursing undergraduate students in the community. Patients and Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quali-quantitative approach. We interviewed users of a Family Health Unit. Data were collected through a semistructured questionnaire, and they were descriptively analyzed. Results: We interviewed 26 users, all women. Of these, 11 (42.3%) declared they took part in activities with students. Immunization was the most performed activity (54.6%); 69.2% reported that students "speed-up care delivery" and "help the nursing team", while 11.6% reported insecurity as for the students' performance. Conclusion: The results showed that, in opinion of the users, the contribution of the insertion of the undergraduate students of nursing in the USF is positive.
