A digital photogrammetric workstation is a digital stereoplotter based on digital stereo images for various photogrametric applications. Digital photogrammety has reached a practical degree. Most its technical problems for extraction of terrain information have been solved. Its workstation is available and affordable, and has the capabilities to produce all types of conventional photogrammetric products, as well as some new products, such as perspective scenes and animated landscapes. Recently, performance and price of computer workstation have been suitable for the photogrammetric workstation. The hardware of a digital photogrammetric workstation can consist of common hardware of computer, instead of special units or equipments. Digital photogrammetric workstation can be low cost, highly automatic and capatable of doing everything which the traditional photogrammetric instruments can do. It will take the place of all traditional photogrammetric instruments including analytic plotters.
