Brigham and Women's Hospital Kessler Health Education Library launched a Consumer Health Database Searching Seminar (CHDSS) series to instruct patients, family members, and care providers who disseminate consumer health information to patients and families on the methods and techniques of structured database searching utilizing the library's online resources. Each seminar focuses on a specific national health observance and targets an individual database. The CHDSS series has been an effective approach in teaching users how to search for consumer health information.
