New models of teacher professional development that cater for more culturally diverse groups of professionals and have a broader reach in terms of scalability have emerged with the advent of interactive digital platforms. In this entry, the Electronic Village Online, a project that started with specialists involved in the TESOL Computer‐Assisted Language Learning Interest Section (CALL‐IS), will be presented as one of the possibilities for networked, social learning for educators with unique characteristics in its training framework. It now has a whole system of volunteers in the coordination and moderating teams who have delivered five‐week sessions held every year since 2002 for English teachers worldwide.
