Model No. SI-1A. AbstractIn this research, it was studied the influence on mechanical properties of AISI-SAE 1045 steel with heat treatment quenching at intercritical temperature of 760° C for 30 minutes and tempering at 400° C, during 10 minutes, 20 minutes and 30 minutes. The number of samples used for this work obtained by the variance curves method. The results of this study was conducted using comparing the test data of material delivery status vs treatments made. The tests were hardness with GNEHM 160 RODI durometer, conventional optical metallography with the optical metallographic inverted ZEISS Axio Observer.Z1m microscope, tension with SHIMADZU UH50 universal testing machine and Charpy impact with SATEC SYSTEMS, INC. Model No. SI-1A machine. As results of these treatments, tempered martensite was evident microstructural level in the three tempering temperatures used and an increase in hardness and tensile strength and a decrease in fragility to this steel.
