The disarticulation of traditional extractionism in the 1960s led to serious socio-economic and environmental problems in the Amazon. The Extractive Reserves (RESEX) arose as a sustainable development alternative for the region. However, the unique challenges in extractive activities – such as native rubber – continue to result in difficulties with economic viability since the market fails to capture the environmental attributes of the forests. These failures may impact the maintenance of eco-systemic services. The payments for environmental services, such as the environmental certification, arise as a way to compensate those who carry out environmental services. The general aim of this study is to evaluate the environmental valuation in the price formation of the rubber productive chain in the state of Acre. We work with the methodology of price formation through trade margin indicators (Markup) and Effective Appropriation according to the structure of the market circuits of the rubber productive chain in the region. Our results indicate that the extractivists of the Chico Mendes RESEX obtained, in the period of 2018/2019, a level of remuneration for their environmental services which may lead to economic viability in rubber production. However, from the standpoint of maintenance of environmental services – as well as the maintenance of the families of the extractivists – that remuneration is still not enough for an effective environmental valuation.

Este documento, que se rege através de uma revisão bibliográfica, busca apresentar, através de institutos teóricos, a influência das Inteligências Artificiais (IAs) sobre o Meio Social nos seus campos políticos, econômicos, mercadológicos e de desenvolvimento. A tal fator, buscou-se reconhecer, em primazia, a estrutura das Inteligências para que, em momento seguinte, ocorre-se um diagnóstico sobre suas aplicabilidades para a sociedade. A metodologia aplicada é revisão narrativa; e na pesquisa foram encontrados 21 artigos para resolução do mérito que, assimilados com documentos demais doutrinas, somaram 25 referências de realização. Como resultado, percebeu-se que as IAs possuem aplicabilidades em diversos setores do Meio Social tão quanto um alto poder de mudança e influência na sociedade.

The corporate world has already realized the importance of allying profit generation and social and environmental responsibility in its production processes, as a way to remain competitive in the market, as consumers are more and more aware of the importance of acquiring products and services with added environmental value. In this context, micro and small companies appear as units that are able to adapt to this new market demand, further increasing their contribution to the Brazilian economy. The purpose of this article is to analyze environmental education as a competitive differential for small businesses. The research problem that guides the study is the following: is environmental education an innovation tool that can contribute to reducing the mortality rate of micro and small enterprises? We work with the hypothesis that environmental education contributes to increasing the profitability of micro and small companies, from the moment that it contributes to improving the image of the business for society, demonstrating that the products and services offered meet the performance standard established by the certifying unit, as well as informing the origin of the products and the techniques of production.

Family farming and sustainable development are the subject of intense debate regarding their feasibility to promote the development of the Amazon Region. As a result of the social movements of the rural and extractive workers, the struggle and resistance for the preservation of the forest resulted in the implementation of the Extractive Reserve (RESEX) Chico Mendes. The aims of this article are to evaluate the innovative dynamics and the investment in RESEX Chico Mendes, located in the State of Acre, in the last 20 years. For this evaluation, the methodology used by the ASPF Project (Socioeconomic Analysis of Rural Family Production of Acre), developed at the Federal University of Acre (UFAC), is used, based on economic indicators such as efficiency and reproductive tension, as well as the typology of families. The results indicate that rural family production based on RESEX Chico Mendes still faces reproductive difficulties, lacking public policies and investments in the search for new sustainable technologies.
