This paper proposes a modeling and controller design approach for a wind-diesel hybrid system including dump load. The proposed control scheme for power quality is fuzzy PI controller which has advantages of PI and fuzzy controller. Simulation results show that the proposed controller is more effective against disturbances caused by wind speed and load variation than the PI controller, and thus it contributes to a better quality wind-diesel hybrid power system.
A blade pitch angle sensitivity of wind turbine can be used to design a PID pitch controller. However, it is not simple to get a blade pitch angle sensitivity of wind turbine , becuase it depends on not only a blade-pitch angle but also wind speed. This paper suggests the analytical method of determining a blade pitch angle sensitivity. Finally, examples have been simulated to evaluate the proposed method in this paper.
In this paper, the energy efficient temperature control algorithm in smart buildings is proposed using particle swarm optimization (PSO). A control horizon switching method with PSO is used for optimal control, and the TOU tariff is included to calculate the energy costs. Simulation results show that the reductions of energy cost and peak power can be obtained using proposed algorithms.
