Iodobenzene-catalyzed synthesis of a-azidoketones and a-thiocyanatoketones from aryl ketones with MCPBA as a cooxidant is described. The method is simple, rapid and practical, generating a-azidoketones and a-thiocyanatoketones from the aryl ketone without isolation of a-tosyloxyketones in good to excellent yields.
An efficient route for the synthesis of 2-methylbenzofuran derivatives utilizing hypervalent iodine(III) reagent and a-(methylthio)acetone via Pummerer-type reaction in ionic liquid is described.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
