The corrosion-and wear-resistant coatings on 7075-T6 aluminum alloy were prepared using micro-plasma oxidation in aqueous electrolytic solution with different amounts of solid MoS 2 powder of 2μm. The bipolar rectangular pulse with a frequency of 1000Hz potentiostatically and galvanostatically is used in this work. The results indicate that the corrosion resistance and wear resistance can be further improved by the addition of MoS 2 powders in solution. The optimal amount of solid MoS 2 powder in electrolytic solution (2g/L) will substantially enhance the corrosion resistance, increase the hardness of MAO coatings and improve the wear resistance, irrespective of potentiostatic and galvanostatic power supply.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
