<p>The aim of this research is to find out the effect of financial literacy level and demographic factors on investment decision on government employees in Kalibawang Community Health Center, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. The population of this research is the government employees in Kalibawang Community Health Center, 29 of them are treated as the sample of this research. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling. The respondents are those who have been doing investment. The data used in this research are collected with questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is the Chi Square test. The result shows that financial literacy does not affect investment decision. However, out of the demographic factors, only age, income and investment experience affect investment decision. Meanwhile, the others demograpic factors such as gender and education do not affect investment decision.</p>
This study aims to examine determinants factors of personal financial management of Indonesian migrant workers in Hongkong. The determinant factors are 1) demographic aspects include age, academic background, number of dependents, and 2) financial literacy. The sample used in this study was several Indonesian migrant workers who are still actively working in Hongkong, especially as household assistants. This study used questionnaire method to obtain the primary data from migrant workers. The sampling technique was non-random sampling which was accidental sampling technique. The data analysis used was Chi-Square analysis. The result shows that: 1) partially, there is relationship between ages and personal financial management; 2) there is a relationship between financial literacy and personal financial management; 3) partially, there is no relationship between academic background and number of dependents with personal financial management. The implication of this study is that by having good knowledge and understanding about finances, Indonesian migrant workers in Hongkong are expected to manage good and wise personal finances, so that they can improve their prosperity.
This research aims to investigate the influence of profitability, firm’s size, and dividend payout ratio towards firm’s value with the capital structure as the intervening variable. The samples employed were the manufacturing companies registered in Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2016-2018. The statistic method used to investigate the hypothesis was a path analysis. The result of the hypothesis investigation proved that the profitability brought significant negative influence towards capital structure, the firm’s size and dividend payout ratio brought insignificant influence towards capital structure; the profitability, firm’s size, dividend payout ratio, and capital structure brought significant positive influence towards the firm’s value. On the other hand, the intervening testing results proved that the capital structure intervened in the influence of the profitability towards the firm’s value, and the capital structure did not intervened in the influence of the firm’s size and dividend payout ratio towards the firm’s value. Being able to pick stocks with profitability value and high dividend payout ratio and choosing a large-scale company are the research implications for investors to scale up the firm’s value. Furthermore, companies can increase profitability, pay higher dividend, and choose a large-scale company by balancing the capital structure, so that firm’s value increases.
The aim of this study is to scrutinize how Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) in the culinary industry manage their finances according to demographics and financial literacy. A number of MSMEs in the culinary field operating in Catur Tunggal Village, Depok District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta was used as the sample which were selected using non-random sampling. Questionnaire was the instrument to collect data from the respondents and Chi Square analysis was employed as the data analysis technique. This study revealed that age and financial literacy of the MSME actors correlate partially with financial management. However, monthly income and educational level have no correlation with financial management. This results suggest that MSME actors can manage their business finances better if their financial literacy (knowledge) improves. As a result, they can maintain their business and enhance their standard of life.
