Corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate sustainability (CS) practices have an influence on the image and profitability of any business. As business schools attempt to mold future leaders, schools have found exploring the topic of CSR and CS into their business curriculum. While many theoretical approaches have been taken, there are few examples of practical projects that professors can utilize in the classroom. Here, the authors present an example of a semester-long project that forces students to examine and reflect upon their own personal consumption habits and create a personal CSR report. The authors describe the project, expected outcomes, and the narratives that are created in the project and the course. Finally, the paper examines the importance of personal reflection on the development of personal cause and responsibility, which can help to develop future socially responsible leaders.

In this article we evaluate Jesus Centered Leadership (JCL), a new concept that has emerged in the realm of spirituality and business management. JCL questions the “Christianity” of Christian business leadership, and proposes principles for ethical leadership that provide a truer representation of the teachings and traits of Jesus. We consider these principles and contribute principles of our own, thereby providing an alternative approach to JCL that remains consistent with the JCL message of morality but addresses issues that offer greater opportunities for adoption within existing business and institutional models.

This study provides insight into the role of self-determination for post Castro Cuban-American women in leadership roles in the United States. It provides a description of the dynamics and social influences that shaped, guided, and supported their self-determination skills. It outlines the process they used to achieve personal control over their lives and what empowered them to accomplish the things they perceived as important. The findings reveal the role and effect that self-determination had in how this particular group of women became leaders and how their self-determination stems from their passion, determination, and sense of responsibility to care and support others.
