SOFRADIR is one of the leading companies involved in the development and manufacturing of infrared detectors for space applications. Among them, meteorological applications, meaning imagery and spectrometry, require detectors operating from medium wavelength up to high wavelength bands (around 14 µm) while having high radiometric and imaging performances. The purpose of the paper is to focus on developments made at SOFRADIR in order to answer specific needs of the infrared sounding instruments MTG IRS. Analysis of the main driven performances and constraints is presented. Then the proposed design and solutions are described and first results of the developments in progress are presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
