The problem of tuberculosis is still that of the most specific communicable disease in the world, and it is with •this in mind that the current appraisal of newantitubercu• lous agents is considered.The two new compounds which are 'Capreomycin' and 'Ethanbutol'. of streptomycin, isoniazid and P.A.S. are 'Capreomyc.n' and 'Ethanbutol'. This issue sets out to recommend their uses in antitubercular therapy together with comments on their acute and chronic toxicities and a discussion as to their place in modern therapeutics.There are some 35 chapters dealing with many facets of this problem including a chapter devoted to a panel discussion and a very useful bibliography on both Ethanbutol and Ca• preomycin.
