This research aims to investigate the effect of Nature of Science (NoS) learning design implementation on students' NoS comprehension. The research employed the pre-experimental method with one group of pretest and post-test design. The samples, selected by purposive sampling technique, were 34 fifth grade students at one public school in Bandung city. A Likert-scale questionnaire was used as the instrument for collecting the data. The data analysis employed a descriptive quantitative technique by independent sample t-tests with the assistance of SPSS and Microsoft Excel tools. The findings show that there was a significant increase from the scores in pretest and post-test as the significance score is 0.000 < α = 0.05. The average score in the posttest was higher than the score in the pretest, indicating that student's NoS understanding improved. In terms of percentage, NoS comprehension aspects increased from 13% to 78%, then 91%. The aspect with the highest increase was creativity (100%), whereas the aspect with the lowest increase was the socio and cultural embeddedness, with 87% increase. This research suggests that the implementation of the Nature of Science (NoS) explicit learning design has a significant effect on the students' NoS comprehension.
The purpose of this study is to develop mathematics differentiation learning worksheets based on learning style and to know the impact for mathematics understanding ability in 4th grade. The method we used was R&D including 10 steps. The instruments were a validation test, questionnaire for teachers and students, and an understanding concept test. Validation and questionnaire data analyzed by descriptive quantitative. Although, mathematics understanding ability data analyzed by difference test and N-Gain test. The results of this study show that the differentiation learning worksheets fit with the criteria. Eligibility validation from experts gets an average of 91%. Practically based on teachers and students’ responses get an average 86%. It means that the learning materials are very valid. The learning materials in experiment class can increase the understanding concept with N-Gain 0,74. We can conclude that with mathematics differentiation learning worksheets can increase mathematics understanding ability. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKPD Matematika Berdiferensiasi Gaya Belajar dan mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa di kelas IV SD. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (RnD) yang terdiri atas 10 langkah. Instrumen pengumpul data meliputi lembar validasi, angket respon guru dan siswa, dan tes pemahaman konsep. Data validasi dan kepraktisan dianalisis secara kuantitatif deskriptif, sedangkan data kemampuan pemahaman matematis dianalisis dengan uji beda dan n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berdiferensiasi yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Validasi kelayakan oleh ahli memperoleh rata-rata skor 91% (sangat layak). Kepraktisan mengacu pada respon guru dan siswa memperoleh rata-rata skor 86% (sangat baik). LKPD berdiferensiasi di kelas eksperimen mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis secara efektif dibanding kelas kontrol dengan n-gain 0,74. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa sesuai gaya belajarnya dapat dipengaruhi oleh LKPD berdiferensiasi.
Penyelenggaraan pembelajaran saat ini menuntut para guru untuk dapat mempersiapkan berbagai keterampilan kepada siswa dalam mendukung tercapainya sumber daya manusia Indonesia yang unggul. Untuk itu, pembelajaran di berbagai tingkat pendidikan khususnya jenjang sekolah dasar perlu mengalami pembaharuan, salah satunya yaitu kemampuan guru dalam merancang dan membuat perangkat pembelajaran yang dapat memberikan bekal dan melatih siswa untuk memiliki berbagai keterampilan sehingga mereka siap bersaing secara global. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan hasil dari pelatihan dan asistensi model pembelajaran Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain-and Create (RADEC) terhadap guru-guru Sekolah Dasar yang berada di wilayah Priangan Timur Jawa Barat. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masayarakat melibatkan 12 guru sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Ciamis Jawa Barat. Metodologi penelitain menggunakan pendekatan deskriptip kualitatif. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan Google Drive. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru sekolah dasar mampu merancang dan membuat perangkat pembelajaran model pembelajaran RADEC berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), pertanyaan pra-pembelajaran dan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD), sehingga diharapkan guru-guru dapat mengimplementasikan perangkat pembelajaran yang dibuatnya di sekolah untuk mendapatkan pengalaman dan pengetahuan baru.
Climate change is a serious issue that has become a global problem, so it needs to be responded to and handled immediately. This study aims to obtain an overview of elementary school students' ongoing awareness of climate change. Sustainable awareness is the basis for someone to change their behavior in controlling climate change. This type of research is ex post facto with descriptive quantitative methods used in this study. The instrument for exploring sustainable awareness data is a questionnaire containing 27 statement items that integrate aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior, with environmental, social, and economic dimensions. The questionnaire uses a Likert scale of 1-4, with the choices of strongly agree, agree, disagree and strongly disagree. Respondents were 467 grade 4 elementary school students in the city of Bandung, Indonesia. The questionnaire was filled out online via the Google form within one week. The data obtained was processed and analyzed descriptively quantitatively by calculating the average and percentage of each item, dimensions and aspects of sustainable awareness. The study results revealed that students have a high awareness of sustainability, especially regarding knowledge and environmental dimensions. The findings have implications for introducing students
One of the reasons why climate change is a contentious socioscientific topic is the swift advancement of research and technology. Based on sound judgment, controlling climate change becomes an urgent matter. This study intends to gain an overview of the factual circumstances of elementary school pupils' decision-making skills with reference to the subject of combating climate change. Descriptive quantitative research methodology is employed. The test is a multiple-choice test with 10 questions that were created using criteria for rational decision-making. 612 pupils at ten public elementary schools in the city of Bandung took the test offline. Descriptive statistics were used to assess the data and categorize it in accordance with the rationale for decision-making. The study's findings show that judgments about climate change are difficult for elementary school pupils to make. Most of their decisions are made using intuitive principles. This study has implications for the significance of discussing climate change with elementary school pupils and having them practice making critical decisions.
