The paper presents an experimental method to investigate the displacement and deformation of rubber elements. Because of the large deformation feature, the moire method with co-moving coordinate is used in the experiment. The paper introduces the choice of experimental material, the loading means and the arrangement of grating. Finally, an example oflip-type sealing ring (Y-seal) is given, the experimental result shows that the method is feasible.
