Considerations in applying circuit breaker protection to DC Systems are capacitive discharge, circuit breaker coordination and impacts of double ground faults. Test and analysis results show the potential for equipment damage. Solutions are proposed at the cost of increased integration between power conversion and protection systems.
D-Tube and Converter Stack Concept of a Reactor-Thermoelectric Backup System 336 VI-3 Selection of the Converter Design Point for the Backup System... VI-4 Electric Power versus Temperature Characteristics for a Low-Temperature Reactor-Brayton Turboelectric Backup System... xi Briefly characterize these technically plausible candidate systems. Identify the technology feasibility issues for these technically plausible candidate systems. Select the most attractive system that fully meets the requirements. Perform conceptual design studies for the most attractive system. Perform preliminary technology demonstration planning for the most attractive system. Select a reduced-pov^er backup system that provides the best combination of performance and technical maturity, and preliminarily characterize this system. These power plant system assessment activities were performed to a set of preliminary design goals and requirements for the SP-100 Program. The key design goals and requirements are shown in Table I-l.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
