The NVB-DDP combination increased objective response rates and time to progression in comparison with NVB alone, but did not influence the survival of patients. The activity of NVB in the treatment of advanced NSCLC was confirmed.

Maintenance vinorelbine did not improve survival of patients with advanced NSCLC who responded to induction MIC treatment. Nevertheless, other agents, including docetaxel and targeted agents, should be evaluated as maintenance agents before the concept is abandoned.

Administering 7.5 mg/kg Bev after induction did not improve outcome in extensive SCLC patients.
