New periclase-spinellide refractories of grade PShSKh have been developed based on melted periclase with 97% MgO and synthesized chrome spinellides.New periclase-spinellide refractories have been developed for extremely hard service conditions (certain areas of converters, electric steel-melting furnaces, the slag belt of teeming ladles, the lining of furnace-ladle units, machines for continuous steel casting, inserts for slide gate plates, nonferrous metallurgy furnaces, etc.). The initial materials are melted periclase and synthetic chrome spinellides (SKhSh), whose formulas and compositions are listed in Table 1. The content of impurities in all chrome-spinellides is not more than 0.5% SiO 2 and not more than 0.8% CaO.The peculiarities of synthesized chrome spinellides are their different oxide ratios Cr 2 O 3 :Al 2 O 3 (from 1.01 to 2.53)
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
