The evaluation of a supply chain is a major priority of companies; it is a task that remains difficult due to the complexity of these systems [1]. This evaluation involves a selection of performance measurement indicators, which are appropriate to the management of this chain. It is then necessary to have a structured approach and adequate methodological tools [2]. Indeed, we propose in this paper a practical method that will model in the first place a Moroccan automotive supply chain, according to the SCOR® model (Supply Chain Operations Reference), proposed by the Supply Chain Council. This method will also identify at each level the appropriate indicators for the performance evaluation depending on the strategic vision. In this context our research problem is made, it is interested in the contribution of the business modelling to improve logistics performance. To the best knowledge of the authors, this is the first work that proposes a case study believed to be easy to understand, practical and suitable for the automotive sector. In short, this study is a real application leap to resolve the problematic unanswered of practical SCOR® model using an industrial application in the Moroccan automotive sector.
This study, both descriptive and exploratory, aims to examine the scientific literature on the supply chain performance measurement (SCPM) in the automotive sector over the last 12 years. The analysis featured 30 articles corresponding to the research topic of the Scopus database. The most pertinent articles, authors, keywords, countries, research laboratories and journals are presented using the analysis of bibliographies on the subject from 2007 to 2018 in the Industrial Engineering domain. The conclusion is performed by the systematic analysis that the automotive sector is well controlled on the subject of performance. The selected studies show that lack of understanding of the performance measurement system (PMS) and lack of management dedication are the main obstacles. Finally, various guidelines are provided to optimize the supply chain in the automotive sector. .
The automotive industry’s supply chain has been extensively researched but has tended to focus on the component production sections of the chain. Indeed, the automotive industry needs a structured model that encompasses the entire fragmented, uncertain and complicated industry. For this reason, the SCOR® model was chosen in this study because it contains well-defined and standardized processes and metrics for performance measurement and comparative analysis of the entire supply chain and not only internal processes. In this context, the objective of this paper is to concretize the application of the SCOR® model in an automotive company by following the steps and guidelines described by the supply chain council that designed this model. Then, several contributions and benefits of the application of this model in the automotive sector will be raised based on this case study and especially on the interviews conducted with the various practitioners and specialists in the supply chain. On the other hand, a list of limitations and difficulties encountered during and after the implementation of this standard will also be collected. Although this study is primarily oriented towards a university audience, it can also be interesting and useful for practitioners, who will be able to gain an understanding of the purpose of the existing research and to have access to a real-life example of the application of this model in the automotive sector.
